Running Klaudius

What it does on its own, and what it asks you first

How much Klaudius does without asking, how to change that, and the things it always leaves for you to approve or send yourself.

Klaudius is built for long, multi-step jobs: finding businesses, building their sites, deploying them and pitching them. Approving every step defeats the point, so let it work on its own. A few things always wait for you; they're listed below.

How much it asks

Claude Code

Choose this in Settings → Autonomy:

  • Asks first. The pipeline's own steps, sending the pitch included, run without asking. Klaudius asks before anything outside them.
  • Auto (recommended, and the default). Klaudius works on its own with built-in safety checks, asks only when something looks off, and shows you what it's doing.
  • Never ask. Fully hands-off, outreach included. Nothing is checked before it runs.

Keep Auto. Anthropic builds guardrails into it that stop genuinely risky actions for your approval, such as destructive commands, anything irreversible, or anything that affects shared live systems, so you keep a veto on what matters without being asked about routine work.

To change it for one conversation, use the menu in its message box. Switch to Asks first when you want to review something step by step, such as a reply to a warm lead or registering a domain for a new client. Auto doesn't work with the Haiku model: with Haiku chosen, Klaudius asks before most steps.

Codex

Codex in the app always works on its own, so there's no setting to switch. Skills that send messages still show you each one in the conversation first.

What it does without asking

A pipeline run finds a business, gathers its details, builds its site, reviews it (when quality checks are on), deploys it and sends the first pitch. With Send outreach automatically off, in Settings → Pipeline settings, runs stop once the site is live and nothing is sent until you pitch. Then open the business in Pipeline and press Draft the pitch: Klaudius writes it for you to check and send yourself, and an email pitch lands in your own mailbox's Drafts folder.

What always waits for you

Whatever the settings above say:

  • Follow-ups. A follow-up run checks for replies, drafts each follow-up that's due, then stops. Nothing is sent until you approve it in the Inbox: all, some or none. Yesterday's approval doesn't carry over, and before each send Klaudius re-reads that conversation and skips anyone who has replied. See Daily follow-ups.
  • Replies to people who answered. Follow-ups never write to someone who replied, and the Warm leads report only reports. Klaudius offers to draft a reply; whether and when it goes is your call.
  • Marking leads as lapsed. Klaudius proposes the clients whose sequence has run out and changes nothing until you approve.
  • Invoices and quotes. Klaudius shows you the whole invoice or quote to confirm, then leaves it as a draft email in your own mailbox with the PDF attached. You press send. See Invoices and quotes.
  • Payment reminders for overdue invoices are saved to your Drafts for you to send.
  • Monthly fees. Klaudius confirms the amount, the period and what it covers before setting anything up, and the email with the client's card link is left as a draft.
  • Buying a phone number. The AI receptionist add-on asks before it buys any number.
  • Your customisations after an update. If an update touches something you asked Klaudius to change, it goes through it with you and changes nothing until you say yes. See Updates.
