When a client replies
What to do once a business owner is interested, from the domain and the contact form to going live, add-ons and getting paid.
Once a business shows interest, by reply or by phone, Klaudius keeps the conversation going with you: it drafts each reply for you to check and makes any changes the owner asks for. You decide what goes out. These are the usual steps from "yes, I'm interested" to a paid, live site. Working through them promptly keeps a deal from drifting.
Reply quickly
Ask Klaudius to reply, or press Draft a reply in the Inbox: it writes the next message from the whole thread for you to check, edit and approve. Keep it personal; a reply that reads like a template is where deals get lost. Warm leads on the Runs page lists everyone who's waiting on you. See Warm leads.
Lead with a domain shortlist
Most clients haven't thought about a domain when they reply. Ask Klaudius for two or three available names that fit the business, send the client the shortlist, and offer to register their pick. It removes a decision they might otherwise stall on. See Domains.
Confirm where enquiries go
If Klaudius didn't have the business's email address when it built the site (the lead came in by phone, say), the contact form is a preview that isn't connected to an inbox yet. Ask the client which address enquiries should go to, so it's connected when the site goes live. See Confirm the contact form's email.
If the business came to you through booking mode, its preview has a demo booking page that takes no real bookings. Before the site goes live, either add the Booking system add-on or ask Klaudius to point the booking buttons at the platform they use now.
Go live, then apply SEO
Register the domain and attach it to the client's site (the steps for each host). Then run Apply SEO under Client add-ons on the Runs page with their live domain. It sets the site up for Google and AI search and ends with a short checklist for you. See Run go-live SEO.
Mention the add-ons
The moment a client says yes is a natural time to mention what else their site can do:
- A visual editor, if they asked how they'd update it.
- A booking system, if they take appointments or tables.
- The live rating, if their reviews are strong.
- The AI receptionist, if they miss calls while they're on a job.
How to price each one is in Pricing your work and your add-ons.
Then bill them
Choose Send an invoice under Client add-ons and pick the client. Klaudius writes a PDF invoice and leaves a ready-to-send email, with the invoice attached, in your own drafts folder for you to review and send. Connect your own Stripe account and the invoice carries a pay-by-card link. See Invoices and quotes.
For a monthly hosting or maintenance fee, ask Klaudius to set one up ("charge Acme Roofing £25 a month for hosting"), and Stripe charges the client every month from then on. See Monthly fees.
