Pricing your work and your add-ons

Set your website price, per-country prices and monthly fees, and decide how to price each add-on you sell.

Your price goes into every pitch, so set it deliberately. What you charge is your call, and nothing here predicts what a client will pay.

Where your price lives

Your pitch names your price in the first message, followed by your pricing terms: "$999 one-off, no monthly fees", for example, or "$499 upfront, then $49/month". In a pitch in another language, the amount and currency stay exactly as you set them; only the words around them are translated.

Change your price any time in Settings → Pipeline settings (Site price, Monthly price (optional) and Pricing terms (optional)), or tell Klaudius: "Change my pricing to $899." The pitch reads your site price followed by your pricing terms, so if you change the monthly price in Settings, check the terms still match, or ask Klaudius to change your pricing and let it update both.

The shapes a price can take

  • One-off. A single price for the site: "one-off, no monthly fees".
  • Upfront plus monthly. A build price, then a monthly fee: "$499 upfront, then $49/month".
  • Monthly only. No upfront fee: "$49 per month".

By default, Klaudius treats your price as covering the build, hosting, deployment and help setting up the domain. Hosting and domain renewals are your costs either way (see Costs and Choose where sites are hosted), so decide whether a one-off price absorbs them or a monthly fee pays for them. A monthly fee is also the natural home for a care plan: hosting, renewals, small changes and support, under one plain description. See Monthly fees, and for renewals, Domains.

A different price in another country

If you sell in more than one country (Extra countries (optional) in Settings → Pipeline settings), each can have its own price in its own currency: "charge UK clients £799", or "charge Irish clients €899 upfront, then €49 a month". Businesses there are pitched, quoted and invoiced at that price; a country without one gets your main price. Klaudius never converts between currencies.

One client at a different price

Tell Klaudius ("Acme Bakery's price is £650"), and that client's invoices and quotes use it. When an invoice's amount differs from the price your pitch named, Klaudius checks with you before drafting it.

Pricing the add-ons

Each add-on either removes a reason to say no or adds something the client values.

The CMS: price it as a feature

"You can edit everything yourself: no WordPress, no plugins, no monthly platform fee" is a real selling point, so don't give it away. It justifies a higher one-off price, or sits inside a care plan. It also spares you a chore: without it, every "can you change our opening hours?" lands on you. See Let clients edit their site.

Booking: an answer to "we already have a booking platform"

A business that books through a platform has a reason to stay put. The booking add-on removes it: bookings on their own site, with confirmations, reminders and a dashboard, and no per-booking fees. Price it into the build or as a one-off add-on. Don't set your price by what their platform charges each month: the reason to switch is that those fees stop. See Booking system.

The live rating: a sales unblocker

There's no monthly fee to charge for the live Google rating. A rating typed into a site goes stale, and the usual ways of keeping it current both land on you: a review widget paid for on every client's site, or editing the number by hand, site by site, for good. The add-on builds it in once, at effectively no running cost, and answers the quiet worry that a site bought today will look dated in a month. Include it to make the site an easier yes. See Live Google rating.

The receptionist: a flat monthly retainer

Price the AI receptionist as a flat monthly retainer, never per minute: an allowance of calls each month, with a fair-use ceiling. Sell it on missed jobs recovered, using the client's own job value and how often they miss calls. Make your part visible: you set it up, script it for their trade, set the emergency rules and stay reachable when something changes.

Ask Klaudius for pricing guidance for your market when you're ready to quote. If you sell the receptionist on its own, tell Klaudius your monthly receptionist price first; it won't look for receptionist leads without one. See AI receptionist.

Ask Klaudius

  • Change my pricing to $899 upfront, then $49 a month
  • Charge UK clients £799
  • Give me pricing guidance for the AI receptionist in my market
