Running Klaudius

Plans and usage

Which model and effort to use on your Claude or ChatGPT plan, what happens when you hit your usage limit, and what to do when you want more.

Klaudius runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription, and that plan's usage limits are the only ceiling on how much it does. The right settings depend on your plan.

Model and effort

Set the effort, and on Claude Code the model, with the pickers beside Run with on the Runs page. They apply to the runs you start there; any conversation has the same pickers in its message box. Codex has no model picker in the app: it runs on Codex's own default model, which the app shows beside Run with.

On the bigger plans (Claude Max, ChatGPT Pro, and Premium seats on Claude Team or ChatGPT Business), set the effort to Medium effort, High effort or Extra-high effort. The higher the effort, the slightly better the websites, but the fewer you build per usage window. We don't recommend Max effort: the improvement over Extra-high is marginal, and it uses up your limits much faster. On Claude Code, use Opus.

On the entry plans (Claude Pro, ChatGPT Plus, and Standard seats), setup has already turned quality checks off for volume. Leave the effort at Medium effort: higher levels use noticeably more of your window per site. On Claude Code, switching the model from Opus to Sonnet gets you more sites per window, with only the occasional rough edge. For quality instead, turn quality checks back on: far fewer sites per usage window, but each comes out markedly better.

On Claude Code, Haiku is on the model menu too, but it can't use Auto, so Klaudius asks before most steps.

When you hit the limit

Settings → Plan usage shows what Claude or ChatGPT says is left of each usage window and when it resets; press Refresh to ask again.

Hitting the limit doesn't cost you anything. A pool pauses, waits for your window to reset, then carries on. A single run stops with a note saying when the window reopens; send it a message after that to pick it back up.

To raise the ceiling, move up a plan: Claude Max and ChatGPT Pro give several times the usage of Claude Pro and ChatGPT Plus, and they're where the higher effort levels pay off.

Changing plan

When you change plan, update it in Settings → Change setup → Plan so Klaudius fits each run to the new plan. Quality checks reset to the new plan's default: off on the entry plans, on everywhere else.

Ask Klaudius

  • Turn quality checks off so I get more sites per usage window
  • Turn quality checks back on
