What it costs to run

Every running cost besides your Klaudius subscription, from your AI plan and hosting to domains, letters and the AI receptionist.

Klaudius runs on your own accounts, so you pay each service directly and Klaudius adds no fees on top. For the price of Klaudius itself, see klaudius.dev.

Your AI plan

When you reach your plan's usage limit, a run waits for the reset, then carries on. To raise the ceiling, move up a plan.

Hosting

Vercel, Cloudflare Pages and Netlify all have free tiers, and you can also put sites on your own server. The CMS, booking and live-rating add-ons need Vercel. Hosting compares all four.

Add-ons

At small-business volume, the CMS, booking and live-rating add-ons cost next to nothing extra to run: they use your hosting and your database, with no per-booking or platform fees. Once a booking client has their own domain, their booking emails go through a free email-sending account whose free tier covers one verified domain and about 3,000 emails a month.

The AI receptionist

The receptionist runs on a pay-as-you-go voice platform account, with a $5 minimum top-up.

  • Pitching it costs about $1–2 a month for the one demo number, however many businesses you pitch, plus about 6–7 cents a minute when a prospect rings it.
  • Each paying client gets their own number, about $1–2 a month, plus about 6–7 cents per answered minute and the texts to the owner (a cent or two each in the US, about 5–11 cents in the UK). A client whose phone forwards thirty calls a month typically costs $6–9; a busy trade's line can run to $25–40.
  • In the US, the texts to owners need a one-time sender registration: about $19 once, then about $2 a month.

Apart from the demo line, these are costs you pass on. You charge each client a monthly fee for their receptionist, and their number, minutes and texts are a small slice of it, so nearly all of that fee is margin. See Pricing.

The account is prepaid, so keep it topped up: calls are turned away at a zero balance, the monthly number rental comes out of it, and an empty account can cost you a number. See AI receptionist.
