Your licence and computers
How many computers your subscription covers, how to move to a new one, what the licence allows, and what happens when a subscription ends.
Your subscription comes with a licence key, which the app asks for the first time it opens. It's in the email you got when you subscribed.
How many computers
One subscription covers up to two computers at a time. The app checks your licence with klaudius.dev regularly, so it needs an internet connection. If it can't reach us, it keeps working for at least three days after its last successful check, and a banner tells you the date runs will stop if it still can't.
Moving to a new computer
On the computer you're leaving, open Settings → This computer and press Release this computer. That frees its place for the new computer, which you set up with the same key.
Already set up on the new computer? If it says Your licence is in use on too many computers, it lists the Computers using your licence and when each was last used. Press Release beside the one you've stopped using.
A released computer stops starting new runs and says This computer was released from your licence. Check again takes its place back, if one is free.
You can release only so many computers in 30 days. If you reach that, if your Settings has no This computer card, or if the app says it can't release computers from there, email hello@klaudius.dev and we'll move your licence for you.
Your database and your clients' websites live in your own accounts online, not on the computer. If you're unsure what else to bring across before you wipe or hand on the old computer, ask us from Help → Message us first.
What the licence allows
- A subscription is for a single individual or a single entity, such as your company, for your own commercial or personal use.
- Don't share your licence key, or resell or pass on access to Klaudius.
- Don't try to get round the licence check or the computer limit.
- Asking Klaudius, in the app, to change how it works is fine. That isn't modifying it.
- What you make with Klaudius is yours.
Planning to work with a business partner or an assistant? Email hello@klaudius.dev first and we'll tell you what your subscription covers.
When a subscription ends
Cancelling stops your next renewal, and Klaudius keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for; see Your subscription, invoices and refunds. When the subscription ends, for any reason:
- Klaudius stops starting new runs. A run already under way finishes.
- Everything you made with Klaudius stays yours and keeps working: the websites it built (they're on your own hosting), your database and your outreach accounts.
- The app still opens, so you can read your conversations and use Save a copy of your data in Settings.
The app shows Your Klaudius access has ended, with Renew or Subscribe again. Subscribe again with the same email address and runs start again, with the same licence key. After a refund, email us first. The full wording is in the terms of service.
