Your data and credentials

Where your credentials and client records are kept, what the visit counter records, and what the app shares with the Klaudius team.

Klaudius runs on your own computer and your own accounts. Your credentials, your clients and their websites stay with you: on your machine, in your own database, and with the hosting and email providers you chose.

Where your credentials live

Every credential you enter, for your email, hosting, CRM, data sources and any other service you connect, is saved in your Klaudius folder on your own computer. None of them is ever sent to Klaudius's servers: the pipeline uses them directly against each provider from your machine.

If your alerts go to Telegram, your bot token is also stored with the visit counter in your own database, so visit alerts can reach you while your computer is off.

If you replace a credential at the provider's end (a new app password, a regenerated token), tell Klaudius and hand it the new value, or update it in Settings → Change setup.

Where your client records live

Your client list is in your own database: every business Klaudius has found, where each one stands, its outreach history, and the ledger of every invoice and quote. Klaudius answers questions about your clients from there.

Each client's gathered content and website source are in your Klaudius folder, which Settings → Klaudius folder shows. The messages themselves stay in the accounts they were sent from, such as your mailbox.

Where the app offers it, Settings → Save a copy of your data copies your customisations, Klaudius's notes on your market, your conversations and your settings to a folder you choose, as plain files.

What the visit counter records

The visit counter on each new site uses no cookies, keeps only a shortened form of each visitor's internet address, and stores everything in your own database. What it records has the full list. You can switch counting off in Settings → Visit alerts.

What the app shares with the Klaudius team

Three switches in Settings decide what leaves your computer for the Klaudius team:

  • Share usage data: which features get used and when errors happen. Never your clients' details, your messages, prompts, or anything Klaudius writes.
  • Share pipeline totals: optional daily counts (businesses tracked, sites live, customers won), numbers only, never names.
  • Send run reports automatically: after each run, a short technical report of which tools ran, whether they worked, how long they took, and any error messages, with file paths, web addresses and email addresses removed. A name inside an error message can still get through. Never your messages or what Klaudius writes. Reports are deleted after 90 days.

Report a problem sends a report on one conversation only when you choose to, after showing you exactly what will be sent.

Ask Klaudius

  • I've changed my email app password: update it
  • Who still owes me money?
